This exercise is the sort of exercise I would enjoy more if I ever get the time to do meditation like I should. I found that just focusing on breathing along with the calming sounds was much easier than having to think of certain images and focus on that. It is difficult for me to keep my mind still so any type of practice that I do will take just that, practice, but I do know that taking time to focus on yourself and nothing else is beneficial to your overall health.
I know that there is a connection between spiritual wellness and physical wellness. I just know that when I under stress I can feel my body react to it. I used to be much better at handling stress than I am now. I don't know if it just me getting older or am I under more stress than I ever was before? Either way I really need to find time to do exercises like this. I am sure it would help me sleep better at night which would go a long way to obtaining spiritual wellness.
This was a difficult exercise for me to perform from the aspect of trying to focus on relaxation and clear my mind of any and all thoughts. My world today is in chaos and you would think that an exercise such as this would be beneficial to me. I'm sure that one day it will be beneficial to me, however since I have such a hard time clearing the chaos from my mind, I cannot focus enough to remove all my chaotic thoughts. I will keep trying this exercise and as they say practice, practice, practice... I believe with practice I will be able to train my mind and my thoughts into one thought which will help me focus with this exercise.
ReplyDeleteI can also feel my body react to the chaos and stress that I'm feeling on a daily basis... It is very difficult when you are mentally and physically exhausted to translate any energy or healing to your spiritual wellness. I think they are all linked together and when one suffers they all suffer.

Donna, I enjoyed the exercise but was a bit uneasy wondering if I was doing it correctly. I think it is difficult to relax and clear your mind when you have so much going on in life. I do like you feel it would be a great benefit if I can make it happen. It is very hard to clear your mind, but like you practice is the only way to get this to work for us. I can see the benefits of all the things we are learning, if time and circumstances would permit, if it would just slow down a little I think I could find the time to practice this.
